Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the CEO, we are seeking to appoint a HR Manager on a 12 month maternity leave contract. This is a stand-alone role with the key purpose of leading the HR function in line with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full recruitment life cycle from drafting advertisements to onboarding of new employees
  • Support leaders in all areas of Performance Management including probationary reviews, annual performance reviews and development plans, and performance improvement plans
  • Drive the development, implementation and review of HR policies, processes and procedures
  • Support the business to achieve best professional practice with items related to mediation, disciplinary action, informal and formal grievances
  • Provide expert workplace relations advice, guidance and end-to-end hands-on case management on all people related matters
  • Support managers to conduct training need analysis/skills gap analysis
  • Research and provide advice on courses/training programs in line with the employee’s development plan
  • Drive the Annual Employee Engagement Survey and quarterly Pulse Survey
  • Lead the Social Committee Team to develop a calendar of events and assist in the planning and execution of the events
  • Implement a rewards and recognition policy and structure
  • Provide expert HR advice to CEO and SLT and act as a consistent point of contact for all HR related enquiries
  • Support the leadership team to identify the optimal organisational structure and resourcing options for organisational success
  • Prepare all amendments to contract and salary review letters
  • Develop and facilitate HR strategic projects as required
  • Provide support in the preparation of the annual Salary Budget

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in HR
  • 5+ years experience in a similar role
  • Exceptional time management skills with proven ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Experience in interpreting Australian Employment Law and relevant framework ( Fairwork, WHS, Modern Awards)
  • Ability to identify issues and solve people problems with a high degree of critical reasoning
  • Ability to apply ethical principles to sensitive and complex issues
  • Effective communication skills in order to manage influential working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to be flexible and assist in all areas related to people management

This role is highly suitable to parents returning to the workforce, or for HR professionals who are keen to develop experience in a highly versatile stand-alone role. Whilst it is a contract role, the opportunities to work on influential projects and “make a difference” are very much a large part of the role. The successful candidate will have the option to work from home and be required to come in to the office 1-2 times a fortnight.
